Quick Scan Update - More Tomorrow

From Elaine's CaringBridge Site

Journal entry by Laura Roberts — 10/13/2015

We had a snafu today with the PET scan. No contrast was ordered so we had to reschedule the PET scan for tomorrow. We did, however, get the results of the MRIs and the chest CT. Praise goes first to God that the right foot shows significant improvement. The foot tumor is definitely smaller in size. I don't have the exact from and to dimensions but I should tomorrow. I am also very thankful that the lung shows no change whatsoever which is good news because we are not really sure this is cancer. The only way to know for sure is to look at it under a microscope so we will talk tomorrow about going to get it to know for sure. Signs are encouraging right now that it may not be cancer. The news on the left shoulder is incomplete. We are unsure of the change in the shoulder at this point. We will know more tomorrow. Elaine is experiencing more pain in that shoulder which is of concern but we are unsure at this point if it is due to a positive or negative change in the cancer. The PET scan tomorrow will tell us more and we should be able to make decisions tomorrow about where to go from here. I'll post another update tomorrow night after we have another meeting with Elaine's oncologist. This is a marathon and not a sprint and we got some encouraging information today. Rejoice and exult in hope; be steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulation; be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12
